The Temporary Guide Base Picking Tool (TGB Picker) is used to retrieve Temporary Guide Bases left on the seabed after wellhead removal, where partial burial in sand, mud, or cement makes subsea rigging difficult or even impossible.
Simple operation
ROV operable
Deployed via vessel crane
The TGB Picker is inserted into the void created by cutting and removing the wellhead below the mudline, including the 30” housing and casing.
A hydraulic cylinder extends the two legs of the Picker outwards, positioning the feet internally onto the underside of the TGB.
The TGB is then lifted and repositioned on the seabed to allow attachment of rigging connected to a vessel crane for safe recovery.
