The anchor is robust with few moving parts and a stainless-steel chassis. A sliding collar at the top of the anchor allows an ROV operator to release the anchor with ease.
The anchor can be re-inserted whilst underwater without having to “Reset” the mechanism. The design has an additional feature for removing the anchor in case the release mechanism fails; specially designed shear pins for over-pull break-away.
