The Gauge Tester was developed by TMT to satisfy a need to check and monitor pressure and temperature sensors within the subsea X Tree, allowing portable testing and verification of the sensors.

It is also possible to interface via a serial connection in the ROV umbilical; providing redundancy should the X Tree control cable fail.
