The Docking Probes are an intervention system designed for station-keeping as per ISO 13628-8. They are used to firmly attach an ROV to an underwater structure, preventing the ROV from moving during the execution of tasks.

The probes can be used to help specify a fixed location to allow the easier repeatability of subsea tasks.
Docking Probes are used where additional loading forces on subsea equipment are not desirable. This can be the case when operating needle valves or hot stabs, or where heavier loads are being handled, e.g. jumper stabs, or where many interfaces are close together, e.g. in a panel.
